1. Who operates this site
Voice Bloom is a personal blog operated by Mei Lin, an individual writer based in Woodlands, Singapore. There is no company behind this site — no Pte. Ltd., no LLP, no team page, no client desk. The postal address for correspondence is Blk 718 Woodlands Avenue 6, #05-22, Singapore 730718. Email: [email protected]. Phone: +65 6584 3726.
This notice explains how I handle personal data when you visit voicebloom.life, in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) of Singapore as it applies to individuals acting in a personal capacity. It is written in plain language on purpose.
2. What this site is and is not
This is a static personal blog. It does not sell goods or services, does not operate a membership programme, and does not provide professional advice. There is no contact form and no account registration. You can read without telling me who you are.
3. What data may be processed
When you visit, standard web server logs at my hosting provider may record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps. I use this only for security and basic troubleshooting, not for profiling.
If you email me, I receive whatever you choose to put in the message — typically your email address, your name if you include it, and the content of your note. I keep correspondence only as long as needed to reply and to fix errors mentioned in messages.
Cookie and localStorage choices are described on Cookies. The consent cookie sg_blog_consent and the backup key cookie_consent_v1 store your category choices, not your identity.
4. Google Maps embeds
Each page includes an optional Google Maps iframe when you accept functional cookies, or when you press Load map on a placeholder. Google may process technical data when the embed loads. I do not control Google's processing. See Google's privacy policy for their terms. On this site, maps are neighbourhood-scale only — never a precise residential pin.
5. Legal bases and purposes
For server logs: legitimate interest in operating a secure static site. For email replies: your request to communicate. For cookies: your consent via the banner except essential cookies required to remember that consent.
6. Who receives data
My hosting provider processes server logs on my instruction. Google processes embed data if you load maps. I do not sell personal data. I do not share mailing lists because there is no mailing list.
7. Retention
Server logs rotate on the host's default schedule, typically weeks rather than years. Email is kept until a thread is resolved, then archived or deleted unless it documents a correction I need to keep. Cookie consent choices persist about six months unless you clear them sooner.
8. Transfers
Hosting and Google services may involve servers outside Singapore. Where providers transfer data internationally, they apply their own safeguards described in their documentation.
9. Your rights under PDPA
You may ask what personal data I hold about you, request correction, or withdraw consent for optional cookies via the Manage cookies control on Cookies. Essential operation of the site requires minimal technical processing. You may lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission if you believe processing breaches PDPA.
10. Children
This blog is written for general readers and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Security
Static pages reduce attack surface — no form handlers, no database of users. I keep software patched at the host and use HTTPS. No method is perfect; I respond promptly if I learn of an issue.
12. Changes to this notice
I may update this page when practices change. The last updated date appears below. Material changes will be reflected here in plain language.
13. Contact for privacy questions
Email [email protected] or write to the postal address above. Quiet hours: late mornings and early afternoons, SGT.
14. Third-party links
Occasionally I may link to external sites such as library catalogues or public transport pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices. I do not control them and this notice does not cover them. When you leave voicebloom.life by clicking an external link, check that site's policy before sharing personal data.
15. Automated decision-making
I do not use automated decision-making or profiling that affects your legal rights. There are no accounts, credit checks, or scoring systems on this blog.
16. Data breach response
If I become aware of a breach affecting personal data I control, I will assess severity under PDPA guidance, notify affected individuals where required, and take steps to contain the issue with my hosting provider. Given the static nature of the site, breach risk is limited mainly to email correspondence and server logs.
17. Do not track
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. This site does not change behaviour based on DNT because there is no cross-site tracker to disable. Optional analytics remains off unless you explicitly enable it in a future version and this page is updated.
18. Summary in plain language
In one paragraph: I run a personal blog. Server logs and optional maps may process technical data. Email you send me is kept briefly. Cookie choices are stored for six months in sg_blog_consent and cookie_consent_v1. No selling, no forms, no accounts. Ask me any time if you want clarification.
This is a personal blog. Everything here reflects my own experiences and impressions, not professional advice. For cookie details see Cookies.
